Marker Art #5: “Dark Sun and the City”

One of my primary interests in the first images was depicting the cityscapes like the one that I experienced in Accra, Ghana. The crowded, colorful, “life of its own” atmosphere propelled these images, and I wanted to promote a sense of constant motion and chaos–at least on the street level. With this image, I also started to incorporate some of the themes of smog, pollution, and waste, so that this particular drawing had more of an environmental consciousness to it.
